Midland Lawn Tennis Club Junior named in Western Australian Bruce Cup Squad

One of MLTC’s rising stars Chelsea Church and Junior member since 2006 has been chosen to represent Western Australia in the State’s Bruce Cup Squad. The WA team will compete against other States teams in Bendigo, Victoria from the 9th to 16th October 2010. The team is comprised of 7 boys and 7 girls (who have turned 12 this year) and they will compete in singles, doubles and mixed doubles matches. Selection for the WA team was based on trials at the State Tennis Centre and the achievement of each player in their League and tournaments throughout the year.

Chelsea is very excited and proud to be representing Western Australia in the upcoming event and to have her name alongside some of the tennis greats that have participated as members of previous state squads in previous years.

Another of MLTC’s Junior girls, Awhina Carpenter, was also selected as first reserve for the Squad and new MLTC member Scott Jones is the # 1 player in the boys team for the event.

Hensman Park Tennis Club have won their fourth straight championship with a finals win over Claremont in the men's state league finals.

Hensman is now the only side in league history to win four consecutive men's state league titles.

Hensman Park Tennis Club have won their third straight championship with a finals win over Dalkeith in the men's state league finals. Hensman now joins Claremont as the only sides in league history to win three consecutive men's state league titles.
